Earlier this year the organizers of the Rhodes Trail Run, Evie & Darrell Raubenheimer donated a large quantity of sporting equipment to the Rhodes Public School.

On the Monday after the annual Rhodes Run Evie and Darrell paid a surprise visit to the School.

“When we toured the school early this year at the time we presented the sporting goods, we noticed that the very young had a somewhat drab classroom so we thought we’d rectify that” said Evie.

Springing a big surprise on school principal Mr Benjamin Soul, they handed over a significant number of educational posters and toys as well as teaching aids specifically for the kindergarten children. “I am totally astonished. I am so grateful” said Mr Soul as he together with his Foundation Phase HOD Mr Vuyani Dlikilili received the gift.

“We have made this donation with Paul and Jenny Selby, who are fantastic supporters of our event, as we realize the need for holistic education. We started with sport and now have made this further small contribution to the next generation”.
