New Best Times and a Third Win

In balmy perfect running conditions Kerry Koen took full advantage of the firm footing, lack of snow and unusual windless conditions to take three new best times en route to a 6th overall at the 22nd Liberty Medical Scheme Rhodes Trail Run.

Kerry was Queen of the Kloof (first to crest Mavis Bank) in 2:28:31 (previous best  2:29:36), reached Hooggenoeg Point in 3:47:19  (3:58:32) and finished in  5:07:55  some 20 minutes quicker than the previous best time.

Trevor Toerien proved that he can out run the best in thigh deep snow and in the dry with a 3rd win and another King of the Kloof trophy.
Trevor's winning time was 4:35:48, which is also a new 40+ best time.
Trevor led the way to the top of Mavis Bank (2:10:52) and over Hooggenoeg Point (3:23:24).

Dry conditions favoured the fleet of foot as the slightly shortened 2010 route took runners directly over marsh land which is usually detoured on the Hooggenoeg Ridge section.

Congratulations Kerry and Trevor - fantastic efforts.

And Trevor joined the Rhodes Trail Run Polar Bear Club™ that evening.
