The long term spin-off of the Liberty Medical Scheme Rhodes Trail Run was exemplified this past week when Guy Jennings (Apula Advertising and Design), one of our Rhodes Trail Run participants, made a very generous donation to the Rhodes Public School.
Guy, who has completed seven Rhodes Runs, is unabashed at his love for our remote part of the country. When he heard about some of the specific needs of the local school he set about helping out.
This past week the Rhodes Trail Run organisers were privileged to assist with Guy's generosity and, on Guy's behalf, presented the Rhodes Public School with four DVD players, four TVs and over 80 reading books.

Miss Konzaphi receives the Guy Jennings donation from the Rhodes Trail Run
There are four classrooms in the main block at the Rhodes School (two grades in each classroom) and a TV/DVD set will be placed in each classroom. Miss Konzaphi was thrilled and explained how the entire school, including the 'littlies', will benefit from the donation through the use of DVD educational material that up to now the school has not been able to make use of.
The reading books are ideal for Grade R to Grade 2 and their colourful stories are sure to light up the young faces.
Thank you Guy and Apula.

With fantastic assistance from UTI Sun Couriers who arranged the freighting of the sets, there was a presentation at the school last Wednesday.
Miss Hildah Konzaphi, who accepted the gift on behalf of the school, was left speechless when she saw what Guy had sent. There are four classrooms in the main block at the Rhodes School (two grades in each classroom) and a TV/DVD set will be placed in each classroom.
