Joe Louis said "Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no-one wants to die"

Pretty much sums up the one-off gorgeously soft specially embroidered First Ascent Rhodes Trail Run fleece blanket. Everyone would like it, but no-one wants to receive it.

The First Ascent blanket is presented to the first person to reach the check point at the top of Mavis Bank after the cut-off. With their race over and a fairly long wait before they return to the hamlet, the blanket (and probably some of Gavin Durell's sherry) will help to keep them warm.

Permanent number 627 Gavin Durell makes sure everyone receives their traditional bottle of sherry as they cross the Finish line.
