Just a short note to say thank you for a truly amazing event. I was expecting a truly great race but this event really exceeded my expectations. I feel really proud that I was able to do the race and actually survive Mavis.I did not realise how tough the route would be and will definitely put in a bit more training, if I am lucky enough to get a place for next year's event. Thanks again ~ Peter Marriott (Port Elizabeth)

Thank you very much for organizing such a special race. I have been fortunate to have run special races like Comrades, Two Oceans, New York and London Marathon and this race, in my opinion, rates right up there as its own special unique experience.Staying in Rhodes was also a special experience. I appreciated the special gifts I received for participating in this race. I particularly appreciated the special First Ascent shirt. It is a quality product which I expect to use regularly wherever my races take me. I am looking forward to enjoying the Sherry with close friends and telling them more about the race. I think the sherry adds a nice touch to the tradition of the race. ~ Gavin Sacks (Johannesburg)

I have been a active runner for twenty years and have done every run possible. This was my first Rhodes and I want to congratulate you and everybody that had anything to do to make this race what it is. I would not want to compare it to Comrades but, if we consider the entry fee and the amount of runners to what we got for our money there is not a race in this world that could compare. You guys are world class and to what I heard on Saturday there's a lot of runners that do agree. Keep up the good work. ~ Ian Botha (Mpumalanga)

The purpose of this letter has multiple reasons and the first and most important one is to say thank you to a well organized race once again. A bit hot in the latter stages but hey Rhodes would not be Rhodes without all its changing challenges thrown in. I heard a good quip going up Mavis bank. This one guy said "Ish, maar dit is darem ‘n k- heuwel" and the retort was "Met ys, broer met ys" At least all that hard work had a few lighter moments. The first Ascent tops are great and very much appreciated  ~ Dick Weers (Cape Town)

This is just a short note to say thank you for accepting me in this weekend's Rhodes Race. I enjoyed the (tough) race greatly and was knocked out at the route, the scenery and the organization. What nice people there are in Rhodes. I had a great weekend and hopefully will be back at some stage in the future, either to run again or perhaps just to fish. Congratulations on a very successful event and thanks again. ~ Guy Baxter (Cape Town)

Thank you so much for yet another wonderful Rhodes run. The organization was as always, fantastic!! One small oversight I have to say - THE WEATHER!!! We are not supposed to finish Rhodes with a tan!! I think that erosion, or some such other wicked creature is working hard to ensure that Mavis bank gets steeper and steeper each year. Please pass on our appreciation to all the many helpers - we do realize that without them, there would be no race. ~ Chel and Dave Gassner (East London)
