Just a small note to thank you for an absolutely wonderful race and weekend. I really appreciate the opportunity to run the race and to wake up on Saturday morning with the whole town covered in snow was an bonus. I was especially nervous when I heard the rumour that the race might be shortened having driven all the way from Cape Town. Well needless to say bailing was not on the agenda. What a run. Cold but full of fun.
Well once again to everybody that organized the race a big thank you. I am already trying hard to ensure I get a number to run next year. I want a permanent number! My wife also want to thank you for all the small goodies and the animal print cloth has got a special place in the house." ~ Piet Snyman

Just a word of thanks to you and your team for once again organizing a wonderful race. No matter what you all have a smile for the runners. This was my third run for which I received my permanent number. It is stunning and will be framed. Angus ran his second race and hopefully will be able to convince some one to let him go for number three next year. Each year we feel its like coming down to Rhodes to see old friends again. I cannot imagine a year without running this magnificent race. Don't ever change a thing. The atmosphere in the hall at registration is like home from home with old friends greeting each other. The ladies from the school did a tremendous job with the delicious home baking and of course the ever popular bar. The snow was an added bonus (or did you and your team organize that as well?!) ~ Margaret McGilp ( Perm no 450)

Just a short note of thanks to you and your committee for organizing such a fantastic event. It was my first " Rhodes", but what an experience. The weather could not have been better and the heavy snowfall on Friday night was such a bonus. I really appreciate the amount of work that must go into organizing an event of such magnitude and I'm sure that all you efforts were appreciated by all the runners. It was really a privilege to take part in such a fantastic event. ~ Robin Patterson

I couldn't let an opportunity like this pass by as in today's age we all seem quick to criticize and slow to compliment. Thank you to all the helpers/workers involved, in once again producing an absolute memorable race and weekend in general. By all accounts this had to be the best Rhodes ever and added to that the bonus of such a heavy snowfall was the cherry on the top. I spent the last 4 hours of the drive down to Rhodes in a steady snowfall only arriving at 10:45pm on Friday night due to the conditions - a totally unique experience and something that I will cherish for ever. Although you can't organize the snow you got the timing just right and that is what made the weekend so memorable.
Having done race organizing myself I know what it is about and to overcome such logistical operations and obstacles in trying conditions is sheer brilliance. How you manage to get aid stations to such inaccessible places in such difficult conditions is mind boggling. The kids who manned Klippies in the Kloof, to the farmer at the first table after the check point on top, to the loud and lively Taylor Table proved to be an amazing experience, once didn't want to finish but rather stay a while and "party". I know that there can be only one winner but to me all the aid stations were winners. I am already looking forward to next years race. ~ Rowyn James (Perm no 324)
